Alexandria Neonakis's Album: Iluq
This is the design work, process and research I've done for my personal project, Iluq. Iluq is a story I'm working on about a young Inuit Canadian girl who lives with her grandmother and younger brother in Perry Bay, in the territory now known as Nunavet. For the past few years, neighbouring families have supplied them with food and supplies, but this year is predicted to be a harsher winter than the past, so Iluq needs to hunt for her families survival. On her journey, she encounters various animal spirits who each try to offer her a piece of advice to help her kill the seal she's hunting. Being stubborn, young and feeling she has something to prove, she disregards their advice and keeps trying to do things her own way. Finally, after a few mishaps, she accepts that she doesn't know everything and can't possibly do this without the guidance of the spirits so she accepts their advice and accomplishes her goal of killing the seal she's been tracking.
