Hey everyone,
I too got my acceptance letter for Calarts Character animation program March 10th, it was dated March 4th.
I can relate to the waiting, last year I didn't get an envelope till the middle of April notifying me of placement on the wait list (which didn't really mean much.) To all those that didn't get in, stay positive. I recommend going up to calarts and getting the notes on your portfolio when you can. It really helped me. Also, if you are in Southern California.. going to the sunday life drawing classes with Corny Cole, or classes at the Animation Union are an excellent way to meet people that work in the industry, and Calarts faculty... but you guys have probably heard all that.
I look forward to meeting some of you in April.
p.s. - puddle, I really relate to your story.. I too am 27.. starting school all over again. I got a degree in a totally unrelated field, and quit everything to pursue this dream. I think you'll find a lot of applicants are older than you think, and it seems like folks get rejected once or twice before they get accepted. That's what I've read anyway. Good luck!
