Hi everyone,
I have been working on my CSSSA application for this year's character animation program. I would really appreciate any advice on how to improve or just general thoughts on the three pieces.
The rain coat boy is a drawing or painting on a subject that interests you
The colorful girl head is a drawing that expresses something unique about yourself
The two piece figure drawing is techinical skill.

Thanks,

On the figure drawing: Your proportions look solid and her face looks pretty good I'm also enjoying the composition (2 pieces of paper is not my thing but I do like the shape her body has created)
You should think about your line quality. You've got some rough overlapping lines of the same thickness and intensity. It's much more interesting if your lines vary in value and thickness. Try drawing with the side of your pencil (or use a softer pencil/charcoal/conte/etc), try drawing with more pressure and then slowly release your pencil from the page (breathing lines)
I also don't see any intentional open edges. Draw around the areas of action and see how little you need to define before someone else can start to see the form. You've got the red accent/shadow thing, you could use that to define her form in those areas instead of having a line and the red (yay, positive and negative shapes!)
It looks like you're defining the form with a pink wash of some kind and lines. I would do one or the other. Try doing the whole piece with wash (or marker, whatever you used), no outlines.
I'll probably think of more suggestions but start with this. I'll add more when it comes to me.
