Plus I can only add one of them otherwise it says that "you have tried to enroll for too many units". Seems like 'Writing Arts: 20th C. Art & Society' is already built into my schedule (mandatory) and counts as a critical studies. Someone please explain to me, hehe, I'm from Norway and not used to this system ><

    Yes! Definitely check out Animation Mentor. It's a very very good school. I've heard only great things about it and you'll get mentors working in the industry, some even from Pixar! Online learning is a great substitute for us not living in the US. I took...  moreYes! Definitely check out Animation Mentor. It's a very very good school. I've heard only great things about it and you'll get mentors working in the industry, some even from Pixar! Online learning is a great substitute for us not living in the US. I took some online design courses and it's some of the best training I've ever had. Go for it! But be sure to check out all scholarships available for you before you give up CalArts and sheridan.

Still can't afford it alone, but saving up for a year made it easier for my parents to lend me the rest :P I do hope to be able to do some freelance illustration work by email on the side of my studies. That way I can work "in Norway" through email.

    I don't think you can obtain a job on a student visa. I'm from Norway, will be attending CalArts this fall, and the only job I can have over there is on-campus... as far as I know. I don't know how it is for Australia.

    But in terms of application just demonstrate that you can animate and add your very best life drawings. Though I think they are looking for less of the experimental way of drawing compared to CalArts. More focus on the solid life drawing skills you know? But someone who's actually attended the program should be able to give you a more detailed repsonse. I may be wrong. The actual course (at least two years ago) was said to be all focus on acting for animation and animation only. They told me that they are not there to teach you to draw any better, only focus on animation. That's why I never went because I wanted to develop my drawing skills more. But definitely go for it if you want. I actually regret it a bit now for not going. Basically, if you're interested in becoming a better animator - then go! :D good luck!  less
