Um. Kansas City lol. Yeah, my boyfriend and I can deal with a studio so maybe it won't be as expensive for each of us. We know we are going to have to downsize.
Yeah I really wanted to take that too. I will be moving to Santa Monica to attend SMC while I prepare my portfolio for CalArts for a second time. I'm going to be taking figure and animal drawing during the summer for starters. I haven't seen the costume figure drawing class, though. Do you know if it's still offered?
I do not see that costume figure drawing is offered for fall of 2013 :( less

I wont forgot all the advice many of you gave here on this forum - All of you inspired much of my work, and your art and enthusiasm encouraged me to do my best.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend calarts this year, and probably not even the next one. Honestly, I don't have the money, and there are a lot of personal problems I have to deal with. But I don't feel too bad - obviously, I will be saddened by the fact that I won't be able to know the other students - to live, learn, and to perhaps network for the rest of my life with many of you - but frankly, I knew from the beginning that I would have no way to pay for this. My scholarship money provided a tiny fraction of the costs, and I was expecting it more o... less

Your career will last as long as you can hold a pencil haha. As long as you are great at what you do, who cares. I am really confused about students thinking they are entering school too late in the game. I am 25. I have always been passionate about becoming an animator or illustrator, but i chose a different career path right out of high school. Now I'm going back to school. I think I am in a better state of mind and focus now than when I was 18. You can't be too hard on yourself. Yeah these 17 year olds are so advanced and creative, but that doesn't mean you can't be.
The more you compare yourself to other artists, the more you are going to stress and have a hard time developing your own art. take a deep breath and relax! less
Hannah Gibbs commented on Hannah Farrell's album: Honestly, I learned the most without instruction. Of course this always helps and is important. Open sessions really let you explore. I feel like there is more time to draw as well. Have fun! Good luck! draw everything and anything

I'm kind of kicking myself for leaving out some traditional drawings. I'm def gonna put more in the next round. I left them out because I thought they were just boring lol. Then I was doing semi blind contours and found them more interesting, but you are right. they lack movement and seems shaky haha. I have to find a happy medium between the two. Thanks again. I appreciate it!
I would love a critque on my rejected portfolio as well. I have seen my own mistakes of course, but I would like different eyes to point out what I could work on. Thanks! :D

I agree, it would be tough to "join" a class that has already bonded for a year AND miss out on the 1st year experience with your new classmates. It really only makes sense from a purely financial vantage point...
