So many acceptances I almost feel like I'll be the first to hear of a rejection Dx I checked my status page and I am still pending a decision, ughh. Thanks Paul for the info though! Hopefully next week they'll wrap up on the EA'ers and then some of y'all character folks can get your news in :)

It seems like Experimental is hearing back since two of us EA'ers have been accepted recently. Extra stress on me knowing I may hear of my decision soon! I wonder if they do it by department..it seems that way. I'm sorry for all of you Character folks that are waiting, but I'm kinda of glad to getting the decisions for EA out of the way. Last year was so aweful, most of us EA applicants didn't hear back til the week of Easter (first week of April) which we all got rejected. This was known as The Easter Day Massacre lol, on Animators Buzz at least. :) Keep calm everyone. Hang in there! And best of luck to those still waiting. <3  less

Sorry I havene't been keeping up with the discussions since the deadline past. Been busy with school..already. Anywho, if you submitted entirely online this year, do you still get a confirmation e-mail? I've been getting kind of worried about that. I turned my stuff in I wanna say a day or two before the deadline. Keeping my fingers crossed for us all this year. Hopefully they won't hold out on the decisions til April for us EA applicants. That was so terrible .___.

This is a group project done in Pixilation animation. I contributed to look and story of the film, dressed and did costume make-up for all characters (including one who is myself ;] ). I also helped 'animate' (direct the movements of) the main character.

My first puppet animation film. I created and animated the character 'Billy', the boy with the red and white striped shirt. All other characters made and animated by my friends. I also created some of the items/props for the sets, animated one of the juggling balls, some of the fire paper animation,...

At the top of this website there's a Cal Arts Journal link that'll take you to a past student's website who has a bunch of pictures up from all over the campus. But I have also been there on a tour. The first thing I noticed about the campus was a sense of community. While there are different buildings that entail where you're going to be taking your classes, I still feel like you're going to be interacting a lot with everyone from all the majors. There was a lot of blank space around the school, for students to have their own space to create or do whatever they artistically please. I really loved that. One of the main hallways I walked through had a bunch of random weird lamps on the floor. Just chilling. It's like what you should would expect from an art school, to find little traces that another student has left behind for others to view. (:  less

I'm applying as an Experimental Animation student, but I'm a repeat applier. And I think this process of applying and freaking out about getting in or not is something we all share. Bobby's advice is truly the best. All we can do is work hard, try making a fiercely awesome portfolio that represents YOU. A portfolio that clearly shows you as an artist. All we can do is say, 'Look Cal Arts. This is me and the best of my work thus far and I think it's pretty awesome." If they don't accept it, at least know that you did everything you could to put your best work forward. This is my mindset this year. It's helped with the stress and panic ;)  less

Okay so two deadlines. November and January. Do you have to submit ON those days or can you submit inbetween? And also which is 'really' the preferred deadline?
