Z.M. Shore → Elena and Olivia Ceballos:
Hey Eli, I think, you did this great piece of a car driving into some dark clouds, I think its called "Long Drive" just wanted to say it's awesome and well done. Reminds me of Maurice Noble a little.
Dear AnimatedBuzz, I've missed you! Animation school sure keeps ya busy, huh? In the throes of making a stop motion group film this summer under the guidance of Stephen Chiodo. Holy crap that stuff is hard work.
Stock photos are perfectly fine man. If you have the choice I would always go into the class and learn live. But for the time being stock photos are a great way to study anatomy and start learning the basic elements of good draftsmanship.
Hey I know this goes with out saying guys, but make sure to bring your sketch books at the accepted student's event guys, I (and I'm sure I am not alone on this one) really wanna see my fellow classmate's drawings!
I say it once I will say it again, who really cares what your using if the drawings are good. Most of my sketchbook that I sent to Cal Arts was in Col-Erase on a Windpower Sketchpad. Like at least 50 percent. I mean thats just what I like to use, it all really comes down to personal taste I guess. What your comfortable with and what you feel gives you the best product. I can't draw with a brush pen worth shit. But I love me some Col-Erase on Strathmore. (mechanical pencil lead rules on that paper too!)
Also Julian try using some acrylic paint in your moleskine, the product will make your head explode like Scanners.
When it comes to Moleskines though I don't get the regular sketchbook, with the thicker firm paper, I get one of the Moleskine Red Notebooks make sure you get it in the "Plain" version otherwise it will be ruled. You get like twice the paper and you would be surprised how well the paper does not blead that much when it comes to ink pens.
